1. Who is responsible?

The controller responsible for this website and for handling your enquiries is: CLOCKKNOCK GmbH Buchheimer Str. 1a 51063 Köln Germany Represented by managing director Cem Tekin.

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at the email address below.

  • hi@clockknock.com

2. Website access and hosting

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, technical data such as your IP address, the requested URL, time of access, response status, browser and operating system information, and the referring page where supplied are processed to deliver the website. Vercel may also derive an approximate location from the IP address and process technical logs for security and error analysis.

The legal basis for our processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is providing a reliable website and protecting it against misuse. These connection data are necessary to make the website available. Details of Vercel’s processing and service providers are available in its privacy notice and data processing addendum.

3. Cookies, fonts and tracking

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, advertising pixels or audience analytics services on this website. Language selection uses the page URL, without a language cookie. Fonts, screenshots and demo animations are served from our own website; they are not loaded from external font or video platforms.

4. Your data in the Mac app

AudioLumo works with the audio files and folders you select on your Mac. Its local catalogue stores file names and paths, technical audio information, and details you add, such as keywords, descriptions, favourites, collections and custom fields. Settings, search history and waveform caches are also stored locally. No additional AudioLumo account is required. The app does not upload your audio or catalogue to CLOCKKNOCK and contains no advertising or analytics SDK.

When you edit metadata, AudioLumo can write it into supported audio files after backing up the original. Other variants use sidecar files. Exports, backups and sidecar files may contain your metadata. You decide which files to add and share. If you choose a cloud-synchronised folder, your storage provider’s synchronisation operates under its own terms and privacy policy; AudioLumo does not provide a cloud sync service.

5. Mac App Store

When you purchase, download or update AudioLumo through the Mac App Store, Apple processes the account, payment, transaction and device data required for its services under its own responsibility. Apple’s privacy information applies to that processing. This website does not collect payment card details or provide its own checkout.

6. Email and support

If you email us, we process your email address, any name you provide, the message and any attachments to answer your request. Contract-related and pre-contractual requests are processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in responding to messages and resolving problems. Providing these details is voluntary, but we may be unable to answer without the information needed to understand your request.

Our email and IT service providers may process the message where required to deliver and handle it. Please share only the files and diagnostic information needed for your request. Your local audio library is not automatically attached or sent to support.

7. Recipients and international transfers

Personal data may be processed by the hosting, email and IT service providers needed to operate the website and handle support. We disclose data to public authorities or other recipients only where there is a legal basis, for example a legal obligation under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR or the necessary establishment or defence of legal claims under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not sell your personal data.

Vercel and its service providers may process website connection data in the USA and other countries outside the European Economic Area. Vercel states that it is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Where applicable, transfers rely on the corresponding adequacy decision under Article 45 GDPR; otherwise the safeguards described in Vercel’s data processing addendum, including standard contractual clauses under Article 46 GDPR, apply. Information about these safeguards and the clauses is available through the addendum linked in section 2.

8. How long data is kept

Technical connection and log data are kept for the time needed to deliver and secure the website and investigate faults or security incidents. The criteria are the purpose of the log, the need to investigate an incident and applicable legal obligations; Vercel describes its own retention criteria in its privacy notice. We do not keep a separate visitor database.

Support correspondence is deleted when the request is resolved and the data is no longer needed for follow-up, legal retention duties or the establishment or defence of legal claims. Legally required records are retained for the applicable statutory period and then deleted. Your local app data remains under your control on your Mac. Removing a library from the catalogue does not automatically remove original files, exported files, sidecars or backups; those copies must be managed separately.

9. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have the right to access your personal data (Article 15 GDPR), rectify it (Article 16), have it erased (Article 17), restrict its processing (Article 18) and receive it in a portable format (Article 20). If processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. Processing before withdrawal remains lawful.

You can exercise these rights by contacting us at hi@clockknock.com. We do not make solely automated decisions, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. We cannot access or delete files stored only on your Mac remotely.

10. Your right to object

Under Article 21 GDPR, you may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. We will stop processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. You may object to any processing for direct marketing at any time, without giving reasons.

11. Complaints

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority under Article 77 GDPR, in particular in the country of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. The supervisory authority responsible for CLOCKKNOCK GmbH is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), Germany.
